This books tells about the large emigration at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century when almost 400 000 Finns left for North America. Most of the emigrants left via Hanko and also more than 30 000 Russian Jews chose the route via Hanko. The book is written in Finnish, Swedish and English.
