The new publication presents clothes and accoutrements found in the museum collections. The book is a good first look at the impressive dress collections of a small museum and is a particularly good match for those interested in dress history. The book consists of mostly object photography along with some dress historically interesting photos found at the museum archives. The book has been written in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English.

The Museum of Hanko is a small museum at the very southern tip of Finland that has extensive dress collections. The museum has collected textiles systematically since it was founded and textiles have formed a central part of the museum’s collections policy. In 1994 the museum received a significant donation from Hildegard Svanbäck that consisted of around 500 objects, mostly textiles. The collection, dubbed Adelaide, includes clothing from such families as Armfelt, Indrenius and Bergenheim all the way from the late 18th century until the 1930s. Since then the collection has grown in 1997 and 2018 after further donations.
